Nuha Albaqal, a 24-years-old Yemeni female architect, is currently repairing houses in Old Sana’a as part of the UNESCO-EU Cash for Work Project. Despite her family's opposition, Albaqal decided to pursue architecture to rebuild Yemen again. Upon graduating, to overcome the grief of her father's death, Albaqal began looking for opportunities to establish her career and financial independence. She learned about the EU-funded project through her friends, who encouraged her to apply for training. To her surprise, she was trained from the first day for months, until she became a certified architect in restoration works. The video explores Albaqal's journey to supervising restoration works in old Sana’a as a female architect in a male-dominant field, and her aspirations to see more female architects joining to restore Yemen.
